About the event
Through the stories of seven major but often overlooked figures, this documentary pays tribute to a generation of great men who, in the early decades following Tunisia's independence, helped lay the foundations of the modern state.
These "State Builders" worked with passion and determination, often in challenging circumstances, to create a country that has been among the most prosperous in the region. The film highlights their decisive contributions in fields as diverse as infrastructure, telecommunications, finance, energy, agriculture, and the chemical and manufacturing industries.
In addition to recounting their paths and concrete achievements, the film also highlights the obstacles they overcame, without ever letting these difficulties deter them from their mission. “State Builders” is also a message of hope and inspiration for younger generations: it reminds us that with vision, audacity, rigor, and hard work, it is possible to transform a country.
